#WOWPittsburgh - Penney Eye Care

Welcome to my new weekly blog feature - #WOWPittsburgh!  #WOWPittsburgh is my spin on Women Owned Wednesdays.  Each week I'll highlight a local, women-owned business.  These women are smart, driven and located throughout Pittsburgh. You may be asking yourself what does this have to do about real estate?  Buying and selling homes is just part of the service I offer my clients.  I give each of my clients a welcome home binder that contains tons of helpful information.  Inspection reports, tax exemption paperwork and a huge list of local home related businesses, activities, community resources and service providers that will help them feel at home within their community after the sale.  I love supporting other women in business and want to give people a taste of what I offer my clients.

Meet Dr. Rachel Penney!

Penney Eye Care is this week's #WOWPittsburgh.  Dr. Rachel Penney was my optometrist at a private practice located 5 minutes down the road from my house.  My entire family loves her.  She's wonderful with children and adults!  Once Dr Penney took the leap of faith and opened up her own practice I knew I had to follow her to Penney Eye Care.  Having such a trusted doctor with excellent bedside manner far outweighed the extra drive time. As a realtor servicing the entire Pittsburgh area driving to White Oak to support a fantastic woman and doctor was a no-brainer.  If you are looking for an excellent optometrist in Pittsburgh I highly recommend making an appointment to see Dr Penney by calling (412) 751-5609.

Dr. Rachel Penney is an optometrist who lives in Upper St. Clair and has worked in the area since 2012. She graduated from Illinois College of Optometry in 2008, and moved to USC in 2012 with her family. She has worked at a laser center and private practice since living in Upper St Clair. In January, 2016, Dr. Penney purchased an existing practice from a doctor entering retirement. The practice is located in White Oak, PA. It was a small practice that needed rebuilding because the retiring doctor had cut back his hours and insurances he accepted. Dr. Penney finds it very rewarding to see the practice growing. It is so exciting to get new patients referred by happy patients who recently visited the practice.  Dr. Penney's goal is to hire an associate doctor so she can have more time to spend with her family.  It can be challenging being a full time optometrist and a full time Mom and wife. but knows her hard work will pay off in the future.   One of her favorite parts of being a #WOWPittsburgh business owner is the example she provides to her young sons; having a hard working Mom who helps others and grows her own business is priceless!

Stay tuned for next week's #WOWPittsburgh business, Splat!, located in Bethel Park.
